I was recently confronted with not being a team player, which left
me speechless momentarily. After a short meditation on the statement,
I realized this wasn't an insult but rather an astute observation
of my character. Not only are there no teams out there I'm interested
in playing for without compensation, but, really, what team would
have me?
It's my humble opinion that all the current teams are going to hell
anyway. So, why would I align myself with any of them? I'm sure
some of you are surprised that I believe in an afterlife. You may
be saying, "But Jim, you've always said you don't believe in
organized religion, what's up?"
Here's the skinny, folks. I have acknowledged the fact that I have
free will. Thus, I can interpret the holy documents of each and
every organized religion however the fuck I choose. And here comes
the logic, I'm sure some of you will be smart enough to duck.
The Logic*
Every holy text I've read begins with an origin of man. Most of the
stories go something like this: Man is created, and like every other
animal on the planet he is oblivious. He is not the top of the food chain,
he is not the most intelligent, and, most important, everything is right
with the world. Through some shady circumstances, man learns the one thing
that puts him in a universal ranking just above animals and just below God.
This one little tidbit of knowledge, and this is important so pay attention,
is the difference between Right and Wrong. Therefore, I can summarize the rest
of the texts in one sentence.
Do what's right.
This is the most difficult concept for people, myself included, to comprehend.
It's the one thing that everyone who's ever segregated themselves due to race,
religion, or ideology has completely misinterpreted. Yet, it's the easiest thing
in the world to do.
Examples
I'm sure someone will say, "Well, Mr. Know-it-All, different people think different
things are 'right'. What do you say to that?"
I say, fuck you. People know the difference between right and wrong. It's what makes
us better than shit-throwing monkeys. (In a much sweeter tone) But to address your
problem, I will give you some examples:
1. William Pierce knows it was wrong to write the Turner Diaries.
He knows it's wrong to hate people and breed hate. He knows he will never be recognized
for anything worthwhile. So, like anyone who's forfeited the game of life, he'll take
what he can get.
The really disgusting thing about breeding hate is that men like Pierce prey on the
stupid, then the alienated, and finally the children. They wrap their ignorance up in
the Bible and place it under the tree for unsuspecting flunkies. I just hope that they
never get organized.
Of course, Pierce is not the only person on this list. He's just the target I chose
today.
2. I have a problem with people who use the suffering of others for
personal gain. The gain may not be monetary. Sometimes people are just fishing for
sympathy. All too often, people's suffering is used to make others feel guilty. The
people that practice this know it's wrong. I won't mention any names.
This also makes people believe that they understand one another on a level that I
couldn't possibly grasp because "my people" have never been persecuted. It's crap. Guilt
trips are for children who don't get what they want and can't accept it.
3. Finally, anyone who confuses fear with faith. |
